Welcome to Mrs. Talps' Terrific Class

Mrs. Talps has been a Douglas County resident since her 7th grade year.  She is originally from Columbus, Georgia.  Prior to moving to Douglas County, she lived in Bad Kissingen, Germany, Pittsburgh, PA., and Ft. Benning, GA.  After many years of working in preschool education, both as a teacher and director, Mrs. Talps began teaching for the public school system in 2005, with all of her years being at Mt. Carmel Elementary.

Mrs. Talps enjoys the challenges of teaching students of all levels and exerts a lot of energy in the class when doing so. In her classes, she pushes the students to challenge themselves and to not be afraid of making mistakes.

She has a fond interest in sports.  She has coached in the areas of basketball and track, and has participated as an athlete in both sports. She also played softball for many years.  Mrs. Talps enjoys watching and cheering for her favorite teams. Her free time is spent attending sporting events that include the participation of her students and family members.  She feels that ALL students should be involved in extra-curricular activities because this promotes responsibility and the use of time management.

Mrs. Talps is the mother of 3 and a devoted wife.  She loves eating out, dancing, and cooking for large family events.
