Douglas County Schools- Mt. Carmel Elementary School- 1995-present

Hello and welcome to the 2018-2019 school year.  My name is Ann Shipp, and I am a "home-town girl". I grew up in Douglas County and graduated from Douglas County High School. My husband, Henry, and I have been married since May 2015, and we have one "fur kid" named Gracie. In my spare time I love to read, cook/bake, color, fish, and spend time with my family, pets, and friends. I also love antiquing, travel and photography.

I began teaching at Mt. Carmel Elementary School in 1995.  After spending time teaching in third, fourth and fifth grade classrooms, I moved to kindergarten where I loved teaching the "babies" for 13 years. Last year began a new journey for me as I moved up to 1st grade! I loved looping up with my kindergarten students and soon found out that first grade is AWESOME! I am lucky to have one of the best jobs in the world.  It is my goal to promote a sense of community, leadership and family within our classroom. Our classroom is a fun, nurturing and safe environment which is conducive to learning . I am excited to have your child in my 1st grade class and look forward to a great year!  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email at or by phone at 770-651-4277.  It's going to be an AWESOME school year!
