Douglas County School System and other local and state personnel closely monitor weather conditions in our area. The school system will notify parents of possible school closings or early release or delayed openings in the following ways:

Blackboard/Parent Link – Automated phone calls will be made to parents/guardians based on information provided by the parent to the child’s school. Phone numbers and emails are pulled from the school system’s student information system.

Notify Me – Emails and text messages will be sent through this subscription service. Parents and the community may subscribe by going to the school district’s website www.douglas.k12.ga.us and clicking the “Notify Me” icon on the main page and entering their contact information.

Facebook – Like our Facebook page! Notices will be posted on the school system’s page www.facebook.com/douglascountyschools/

Twitter – Follow us at www.twitter.com/dcgaschools/

Instagram – Follow us at www.instagram.com/dcssga/

Metro TV and radio stations will also be informed of Douglas County school closings. Parents should avoid calling schools and the central office so that phone lines are not tied up.
